Preparing for Battle...

I woke up today quite groggy. Probably because I went to bed a little later than normal, I had to catch up on my shows I have recorded on my DVR! I started the day with some bacon and dried pears for breakfast. And for lunch I ate a cup of paleo chili (I made it with ground lamb and beef this time, it was DELICIOUS!!) topped with sour cream & an orange.
As soon as I got home from work I got changed and headed to the fort. Typically Wednesdays are my rest days but I didn’t get my rowing WOD in last week and wanted to make sure I got one in this week. Bill (another one of my coaches at CFF) has been training us for the Indoor Rowing Competitions that are coming up in February. I would like to compete on our rowing team but I’m pretty sure there are several girls at CFF that can out row me. So right now, I am just trying to improve my technique and increase my stamina. I think once I find a comfortable groove I’ll feel a lot better about my rowing! Tonight I had to row 4 rounds for 5:00 and a 3:00 rest. I rowed a total of 4478 meters, it was quite rough! Not comparable to any of the girls scores…but I know I pushed myself and got in a good workout.
As soon as I got home from the fort I got right to preparing meals for the rest of the week. My mom gave me a HUGE beef tenderloin for helping take care of my brother and sister last week. I cut that up into several steaks, and seasoned it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. I seared the steaks in bacon fat and finished them in the oven! I snagged a bite before I divvied them up into containers for lunch and they are quite delicious. I also broiled some breakfast sausage for the rest of the week. Then I moved on to making dinner, I broiled 2 grass-fed ribeyes seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic salt, and herb butter. And I made some mashed sweet potatoes. The steaks are almost done, so I am going to go enjoy my dinner!
